Sarasota Annoys Hillsborough Economic Development

Hillsborough lost out to Sarasota in the competitive game to lure Financial Tech Firm High risk Pay Labs’ planned 120,000 square foot facility.

How dare they? We are all part of Tampa Bay, and we in Hillsborough are key central key important part of Tampa Bay! When you compete with Hillsborough you compete with yourself. Greedy Sarasota stealing the lab serves no logical goal as we will take credit for it as being in Tampa Bay anyway. It also demonstrates a disturbing disobedience highlighting that Sarasota does not know who is the boss of Tampa Bay.

Regionalism is a Tampa first strategy as we are socially vastly more important then our silly neighbors. A regional thinking Sarasota would have championed High Risk Pay Labs relocating to Tampa, they would have sent their economic funding here to pay for it, or at least they would have shut up.

So much wasted money and effort competing within the region and against the wishes of your social betters is foolish. We in Tampa claim dominion over all of the region. The poor foolish cities surrounding Tampa work for and are owned by Tampa.

So good news, we the leaders of Tampa Bay declare economic success and take all credit for the formation of a biotech cluster. But be warned Sarasota, we are the alpha dogs and we bite. So be quiet and get in line behind us.
