32 Deemed Unhip as Day of Rage Engulfs Tampa

At least 32 people were declared unhip for “not getting it” on high speed rail at a protest rally Monday that preceded a wave of flaming Facebook and Twitter posts.

Despite please from local fashion leaders and trend-setters for hipsters to stay home and be peaceful, hipsters gathered by the tens in downtown Tampa. Several hours of pouting and complaining ineffectively then lead to an online protest.

The ineffectiveness of yelling in Tampa about decisions made in Tallahassee may have influenced the move online. Hipsters on smart phones have been on the offensive since.

Protesting hipsters espoused all talking points distributed to them at once, calling high speed rail a jobs maker, commuter solution, tourist attraction, economic development stimulus project, a religious icon and reportedly the first step in the machine revolt that will enslave then evolve humanity.

The social casualties have been enormous. Hispter forces are using smears, insults, tisks, sighs, chants, snide comments, and most have moved into anger and rage. Political forces in Tallahassee have been undeterred which has lead to continued escalation of the infighting in Tampa.

City police are not considering a curfew or crackdown feeling that the hipsters would go away when they realized no one was listening or it got dark.

The economic impact of this protest rage has hit Starbucks the hardest as their core customer base is fully engaged in the protests. Regional Manager Gus Holdin said it could be a week maybe even two for Starbucks operations to fully recover.

Many hipsters said they were protesting for the first time. Among them was Sam Edison, age 28, an unemployed mechanical engineer who defiantly waved his sign proclaiming “Rail Now” in the air.

“I want to be associated with wealth and power, with what I am told is cool. The only way to do that is to blindly support the causes the hipster herd follows. I don’t understand the rail issue but I have been told by people I want to associate with to support it.”
